Processing a Trade-In

Buying second-hand devices or processing trade-ins is a core feature for electronic and retail service stores using CrazyPOS.

Initiating a Trade-In / Buyback

Similar to processing a sale, you can process an intake of stock via a customer trade-in.

  1. From the terminal POS, select Buy / Trade-in.
  2. Select the customer profile. By law, most buybacks require a verified customer ID attachment.
  3. Enter the device details: Make, Model, Storage, and IMEI/Serial.

Condition Assessment

The system will prompt you for a grading process:

  • Grade A (Like New): Flawless condition.
  • Grade B (Good): Minor scratches.
  • Grade C (Fair): Noticeable wear, functional.
  • Faulty/Broken: Non-functional or requires repair.

Based on your Admin Console pricing rules, the POS can dynamically suggest a buy-back quote based on the current market value.

Completing the Buyback

  1. Agree on the price with the customer.
  2. Select the payout method (Cash Out, Store Credit, or Bank Transfer).
  3. Print the Buyback Agreement for the customer to sign.
  4. The device is instantly added to your Inventory with a unique stock ID, ready to be refurbished or sold.
